ABOUT ME
Arnaud DESPALINS - Software / Web engineer and Bioinformatician
Hello dear visitor. My name is Arnaud DESPALINS and I graduated an MsC in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the University Paris Sud XI. An odd degree you may say, that could be translated for me as the use of computer science to solve biological problems. With its dual expertise, I could deepen my knowledge in both these areas that fascinate me.
I would love to work on a citizen science project (harnessing the power of brain and computer based participatory volunteerism through a game or an easily accessible interface for a non specialist user) as Zoonivers or Phylo. Why not for an altruistic company such as a famous search engine starting by "Goo" and ending by "gle", who knows. I feel that it’s particularly extraordinary to involve volunteer people and not necessarily those with a scientific knowledge to advance science in performing data processing that would have been monstrously long otherwise while providing an enlightened entertainment. Unfortunately I have not yet realized that dream and I turned to the pure IT area that is equally interesting and rewarding.
